What is the Diversity, Inclusion, and Social Equality Pledge (DISEP)?
The pledge is a value-led commitment to partner with businesses to create and boost competitiveness through fairness, equality, and supportability. All individuals have the right to receive equal opportunities in the workplace, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, age, or sexual orientation.
All company commitments are voluntary and should last for five to ten years. DISEP commits to challenging the senior leadership of every company to improve the work, social, and life equality of all employees and the community
We are calling all CEOs, celebrities, and game-changers who want to make a difference. We have to take back our corporate world and run it with fairness, honesty, and inclusion.
We will get past racism by understanding each other; let’s make systematic racism an old cliché. We have to build a new community; this is a new way of accomplishing diversity and inclusion. We have to be open to building and understanding, so we can get it right.
We are not asking the federal or local government; I’m calling for local leaders and CEOs to undo years of injustice. Every company represents its customers and employees; the bottom line is that this line doesn’t carry a color. We’re in a learning curve that we have to change in a positive direction.
If the company’s top c-suite level is not diverse, the company needs to review the company’s culture. Do you represent 15 to 20% of your employees and customers?
It’s not about holding the government responsible. We have the responsibility to say that we need to change and be the change in our nation.
Mission and Vision
Diversity is an absolute necessity in today’s workplace.
Inclusion will create diversity and a unique structure in the workplace place.
Inclusion will than create Social Equality in the workplace.
Pledging to these three words mean that;
DISEP focuses on advancing equality, diversity, and inclusion by influencing our nation’s CEOs, leaders, and communities to focus on systemic change. All commitments are voluntary and last for five years or more. DISEP is committed to challenging the top levels of every company we work with to improve the work, social, and life equality of all employees and communities. We will achieve this by:
Creating a space where business and community leaders come together to volunteer and pledge actionable ways to promote equality.
Engage in strategic and intentional company-wide assessment from the top tier to the bottom tier of each company (assessment is customized to company needs).
Review all data found via internal and external resources (i.e., interview employees, attend all levels of meetings, etc.).
Leveraging leadership commitment and dedicated support to initiatives on life-long changes and thereby having a concrete impact on each company and community.
